Safer Internet Day 2012

The Ministry of Administration organises a presentation of current projects and activities of different associations, organisations, public bodies and companies, as well as state administration bodies, aiming to promote safer Internet use among children and the young, which will take place on 4 February.  This presentation is a part of the Safer Internet Day, celebrated in Croatia and many other countries in the world, and this year's theme is "Connecting Generations".

From 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. at the Avenue Mall in Zagreb you will have the opportunity to learn how to discover the digital world in a safe way and without any worries.

Projects and papers will be presented by a community of teachers called "Partners in Learning", gathered around the portal učitelji.hr, the representatives of the Veliki Bukovec Elementary School, the Croatian Post and Electronic Communications Agency, the Brave Phone, the Croatian Academic and Research Network - CARNet, the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency, the companies NetAkademija, Algebra and Microsoft Croatia and the Ministry of Administration.

The Safer Internet Day celebration was initiated in 2004. Since then it has spread all over the world, including 70 countries as of last year, with different activities emphasising the importance of safer and more responsible ICT use.

The Safer Internet Day is celebrated around the world and in Croatia each year on the second day of the second week in February. The umbrella organisation INSAFE chooses a theme each year to which special attention will be dedicated within the celebration. The focus of attention this year is on the connection of generations, so the organizers are inviting people of all ages, from small children through their parents to their grandmothers and grandfathers, to discover the digital world safely together.
