The General Assembly of the GÉANT Association Met in Zagreb

In cooperation with its partners, Croatian Academic and Research Network - CARNet organised a meeting of the General Assembly of the GÉANT Association at the Westin hotel in Zagreb on 10 and 11 December 2014. The meeting was attended by the majority of organisation's shareholders, representing 1105 votes of the possible 1155, and its new management was elected during the meeting.

The meeting was attended by the representatives of nearly all national academic and research networks from Europe participating in the GÉANT project, and among themselves they elected Pierre Bruyère, from the Belgian network Belnet, as the Chair of the Board for a two-year term of office. Also elected into the management board for a two-year term of office were Sabine Jaume-Rajaonia from French RENATER, and Mr. Ivan Mariæ as the CARNet representative.

Elected for a one-year term of office were Erwin Bleumink (SURFnet), Marko Bonaè (ARNES) and Alberto Pérez (RED.es/RedIRIS), while the representative of German DFN, Christian Grimm, was elected for a three-year term of office.

In addition to the General Assembly meeting, the meetings of GN3plus Assembly and the NREN PC were also held in Zagreb.
