Safer Internet Centre established

Today, 5 June 2012, Safer Internet Centre was established in Zagreb. The Centre was established by signature of the Strategic Partnership Agreement between the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Administration, the Croatian Academic and Research Network - CARNet, the Technical Polytechnic in Zagreb, the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency, the Polyclinic for the Protection of Children of the City of Zagreb and the Partners in Learning association.

One of the primary objectives of the Safer Internet Centre is joint promotion of computer and information security in the Republic of Croatia.

Particular emphasis has been placed on the planning of effective mechanisms for the prevention of risks and dangers threatening the most vulnerable social groups, the children and the young. The establishment of the Centre strengthens the present successful collaboration and improves the coordination of activities of all bodies and agencies in the field of computer and information security. The signature of the Strategic Partnership Agreement on the occasion of establishment of the Centre also creates a formal framework for its institutionalization.
