The CARNET Education Support Department offers advisory and educational support to the institutions interested in the implementation of e-learning.
The institutions interested in the systematic introduction of e-learning need to strategically plan the activities through which they will realise it, in order to optimally integrate e-learning in their work. This includes decision-making concerning infrastructure, human resources, staff education and the pedagogic and methodical paradigms on which the education provided by a particular institution will be based.
With regard to the decision-making process, CARNET's Education Support Department offers consultancy, whereas in the course of the staff education process, it offers specialised workshops tailored to the needs of a particular institution. The workshops cover the fields of e-learning management, course material planning and creation and conducting of online courses.
Below are some of the topics covered by the educational workshops:
- introduction to e-learning;
- teaching and learning in an online environment;
- basic and advanced use of Moodle;
- creation of multimedia course content;
- open educational resources, copyright and licensing;
- use of Web 2.0 tools in teaching.
Normally, each is topic is covered in a one-day workshop, but the duration of a workshop is flexible and depends on the needs of the clients of the educational workshops.
