The hosting service for secondary and primary schools is a CARNet service providing all schools, their employees, teachers and students with a free electronic identity. The electronic identity consist of an e-mail address and a user name and password for access to CARNet services (e.g. connecting to the Internet via CARNet modem entries - CMU, Mobile CARNet service, XCARNet service, DUO.CARNet service, MetroCARNet service, e-Library - archive of digital books and magazines, CARNet LMS - distance learning system, ‘Školska učilica’ etc).

When joining the CARNet network, every school has to appoint a directory administrator who will be in charge of creating the electronic identities for all the school students, teachers and employees.
