Media On Demand service is CARNet YouTube. It's the archive place for recorded multimedia video events (videoconference, lectures, seminars etc.).

The CARNet multimedia team also adjusts and do post production of the recorded audio or video material and uploads it to the MoD system archive . The archive can be accessed via the Internet. As part of this service, CARNet also does research of new Internet streaming technologies and develops its own software for the reproduction of streaming content, especially the delivery and archive of the video and of the content (presentation).

Inside the MoD service there are three different type of groups (the difference in how they are interacting with CARNet):

• end users, who are using archived materials.
• content providers, who inside their institutions create the content (lectures, animations, presentations, etc.)
• providers, are institutions who want to established their own media archive service
