Zagreb meeting

November 28-30, 2011

The project started with the kick-off meeting in Zagreb, at the same time as Christmas atmosphere was forming in the Croatian capital. 17 partners spend 2,5 days at CARNet premises, discussing issues that were important to us – what we do, what we know, what we don't know but would love to learn, and of course, one of the most important thing, what do we want to achieve during this project. Day one we dedicated to getting to know each other, both personally and institution wise, and the session was hosted by joint Lithuanian-Croatian team. We had short presentation of Croatia and e-learning in Croatia, and also a short intro into the project. We brainstormed around project goals and outcomes, focusing on main challenges we want to address during the project. All partners presented their country VET systems in the form of a poster session: take a look at the poster pictures at the end of this text.

The second day was devoted to a bit more tangible work. The whole morning was focused on discussing the design and creation of selfevaluation tool for e-learning, what is the main outcome of the project. The lively

session was hosted by Belgian team from Liege University. We formed our work around four categories: organization, pedagogy, technology integration and cooperation and employability. Gordana Zvjerković, vocational teacher from Trade Technical School (Obrtnička tehnička škola) from Split joined us in the 2nd day sessions and helped us understand the practical side of the e-learning implementation in Croatian vocational schools.

In the afternoon, Polish team happily engaged the whole group in devising the project plan beyond just meeting schedules, adding to it important milestones and outcomes, and we also took some time to set up additional rules and guidelines for our work during the project. Finally, to be on a safe side, Slovenian tean used the f2f meeting to schedule the next one in Ljubljana that we plan to hold in April next year.

The last day we spend visiting the Geodetic Technical School, a vocational school for land surveying training and education. All the partners (including Croatian one) were impressed by the teachers’ enthusiasm, student engagement and the whole school achievements! More on that will follow on this page. For now, we want to thank all partners for their active participation in discussion, hosting sessions, asking questions and working together to answer some of them. Looking forward to our next meeting in Ljubljana!
