Laboratory for Digital Teacher Training Opened in Split

The Croatian Academic and Research Network – CARNet and Samsung opened on 23 April 2015 the Laboratory for Digital Teacher Training at the Department for Teacher Education at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split. This is a continuation of the cooperation of CARNet and Samsung with the aim of improving digital education in Croatia.

After opening the Laboratory for Applications at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing in Osijek in October and two laboratories at the University of Rijeka (one at the Campus in the University Departments' building, and the other at the Faculty of Engineering) in December last year, the opening of the Laboratory for Digital Teacher Training at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split is the third project of this type between CARNet and Samsung, with support from the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports in the Republic of Croatia.

The opening of the Laboratory for Digital Teacher Training enables all students of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split to access the latest technologies and development tools, which will certainly help them in their professional development and in preparing course contents in a digital format. Furthermore, the Laboratory will create additional chances for the networking of the three universities in exchanging knowledge and experience, as was mentioned during today's opening ceremony.

Samsung's and CARNet's Laboratory for Digital Teacher Training at the Department for Teacher Education of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split is equipped with tablets, teacher computers and an interactive whiteboard, enabling a simple preparation of courses for students, and a quality preparation of course contents in the digital form.
