The CARNET Users Conference, themed \u201cOn the Verge of Possible,\u201d brought together over 1,100 principals, teachers, professors, IT experts, and businesspeople in the field of information and communication technologies.<\/p>\n
During the three days of the conference, more than 140 papers will be presented addressing topics related to the meaningful use of new technologies in education, such as augmented reality in and out of the classroom, educational computer games, open-source technologies, digital tools and applications, interactive content, and digital accessibility.<\/p>\n
CARNET will present new features in the e-Schools program and will focus on developing the digital skills of teachers and principals through training within the e-Schools program. Users will have the opportunity to learn about the advantages of CARNET sigma, a system for the informatization of school business processes, and to share their ideas and expectations for the e-Class Register, an electronic class register.<\/p>\n
CARNET's National CERT will educate participants on the importance of cybersecurity, especially the security of the workplace and work processes, data protection, and identification and protection against malicious content.<\/p>\n
CARNET CEO Goran Kezunovi\u0107<\/strong> emphasized that this year's conference is called \u201cOn the Verge of Possible\u201d because \u201cwe live in a world of rapid changes that require us to make quick adjustments and focus on new challenges. Today we are shaping our digital future, and that is why digital transformation must be accompanied by new competencies. They will enable us to efficiently and responsibly manage new technologies and build an inclusive and technologically advanced society together.\u201d<\/p>\n On the occasion of the conference opening, the Minister of Science and Education Prof. Dr. Sci. Bla\u017eenka Divjak<\/strong> pointed out that CARNET plays a significant role in the digital transformation of schools, education, and science, and that the e-Schools pilot project, which expanded from 150 to 1,300 schools, is a big step. \u201cThe initial plan was for 60 percent of schools to be represented, but we made the decision that the project would be introduced in all schools, and that is the transition from a pilot project to the system,\u201d said Minister Divjak.<\/p>\n Minister of Administration Ivan Malenica<\/strong> pointed out that \u201ccooperation with CARNET is realized through the e-Enrolment project, which will make enrollment in kindergartens and other educational institutions as efficient, fast and simple as possible, and will simplify and standardize enrollment in higher education institutions.\u201d.<\/p>\n
