Croatian Academic and Research Network \u2013 CARNet invites interested teachers to apply for participation in the workshop \u201eISE for the End, and No End,\u201c organized within the Inspiring Science Education (ISE) project on July 5, 2016, from 11 AM to 3 PM at CARNet premises at Josipa Marohni\u0107a 5, Zagreb.<\/p>\n

In the introductory part of the workshop, the course of the ISE project and its achieved results will be briefly presented. Although the ISE project officially ends at the end of July, we are confident that during the next school year, teachers throughout Croatia will find it interesting to measure the Earth using a stick, create and apply ISE learning scenarios, and use the ISE portal as a central website with access to numerous educational resources, recommended peer-reviewed e-tools for use in teaching, and for creating, exchanging, and distributing knowledge within virtual communities.<\/p>\n

Examples of good practice<\/h3>\n

The end of the school year is not the end of science popularization through technology. This will be confirmed by teachers who have won awards within the ISE project, who will share their good practices in the following workshops. They will tell the story of integrating technology into teaching, ways to popularize science in their classrooms, and finally, their students' reactions.<\/p>\n

Let these examples of good practice encourage you to reflect, implement new ideas and projects, and ultimately establish new collaborations, all with the aim of fostering innovation in teaching that will result in positive reactions from your students.<\/p>\n

Learning caf\u00e9<\/h3>\n

At the very end of the workshop, all participants will have the opportunity in a group activity called Learning Caf\u00e9, accompanied by coffee, to exchange experiences and advice on how to enrich their teaching and impress students. All participants will have the chance to share their own thoughts, list advantages and disadvantages, and present suggestions for improvement and answers to the questions: \u201eHow can we more easily integrate ICT into teaching practices and classrooms in the future? How can we collectively popularize science and increase students\u201c interest in so-called STEM fields (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics)?\"<\/p>\n

We especially emphasize the importance of entering the correct email address, as this address will be used to notify you about your arrival at the workshop. For everyone who will not be able to participate, we have provided a live stream that can be followed via these links<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Please note that participants of the workshop will receive certificates of attendance. Unfortunately, we are unable to issue certificates to those who will be watching the workshop via stream.<\/p>\n
