e-Schools project regional webinar held in Knin

Applications of Digital Technology in Biology and Nature Classes in Primary Schools is the title of the second regional webinar which the Croatian Academic and Research Network – CARNet held today within the framework of the e-Schools national pilot project: Establishing a System for Developing Digitally Mature Schools.

A webinar held in Knin Primary School of Homeland Gratitude was attended by 23 teachers, while 132 teachers followed the webinar online. Helena Valečić, a biology teacher from the Lovro Pl. Matačić primary school in Zagreb, presented to the participants the methods of using various tools and applications in nature classes accrue in 5th and 6th grades and biology classes in 7th and 8th grades. There are numerous tools and applications for learning about the anatomy of the human body, which show three-dimensional systems of body organs, and the teacher, among other things, demonstrate how to easily present a cell in three dimensions and teach about the roles of organelles in the cell. Another interesting presentation was that of microscoping without the actual microscope, with the help of a smartphone or a tablet, and there was a presentation of possibilities of using and making shared digital materials for biology and nature classes, as well as tools which help teachers to monitor students' achievements and value their work.
