Study visit

Improving learning and teaching through institutional cooperation with ICT support

The Croatian Academic and Research Network – CARNET hosted a group of participants from European countries within the Lifelong Learning Programme, ranging from heads of educational institutions or departments, professors, teachers, researchers, and representatives of educational organizations, to members of local, regional, and state bodies.

The gap between limited resources and high expectations in 21st-century education is increasingly being bridged in the Croatian educational context through innovative institutional collaboration supported by ICT, which ensures better transfer and acquisition of knowledge.

The aim of the study visit was to showcase examples of good practice collaboration between educational institutions, from primary and secondary schools to higher education institutions and commercial companies, with a focus on the innovative application of information and communication technologies to improve the process of knowledge transfer and acquisition, i.e., teaching and learning. Participants of this study visit had the opportunity to see real-world examples of best practices in institutional collaboration that enhance the quality and effectiveness of educational processes and fundamental competencies.

Participants are:

  • familiarized with innovative approaches to organizing and improving learning and teaching through institutional cooperation at all levels of the educational system and lifelong learning institutions, as well as across regional and national borders
  • learned how the innovative use of ICT can improve institutional cooperation in enhancing teaching and learning
  • learned how institutional cooperation can contribute to the quality of education and the development of key competencies.

Participants are:

  • visited institutions where collaboration projects were underway between primary and secondary schools, universities, and small and medium-sized enterprises, at the national, regional, and international levels
  • observed real educational situations in which institutional cooperation significantly contributed to the quality of education and the development of key competencies
  • introduce experts and teachers with experience in developing and organizing institutional cooperation, as well as in using ICT to improve institutional cooperation.

This project has been funded by the European Union.
