The Competence Center (CEKOM) for Cyber Security of Industrial Control Systems was established with the aim of increasing the competitiveness of the Croatian economy through the implementation of research, development, and innovation activities in the business sector, as well as collaboration with scientific research institutions in the field of cyber security of industrial control systems.
The fundamental purpose of the project is driven by industry needs to develop effective solutions and enhance the capacity of the business sector with the ultimate goal of successfully commercializing developed solutions in the field of industrial control system cybersecurity. Project partners will develop a security system prototype as a set of methodologies, tools, and services applicable in the area of active industrial control system cybersecurity management. This will also directly impact the improvement of national critical infrastructure security.
The general objective of the project is to improve the innovation environment and increase research, development, and innovation activities through the implementation of collaborative R&D projects between the business sector and research and knowledge dissemination organizations in the field of cybersecurity for management systems.
The specific objectives of CEKOM for the cybersecurity of control systems are:
- Increasing and intensifying research and development activities in the field of cybersecurity for control systems
- Opening new jobs and contributing to the reduction of unemployment in Croatia.
- Industrial research and experimental development of the subject CEKOM with the aim of developing new products/services that are an innovation on the global market
- Increasing the volume of cooperation between entrepreneurs and research and knowledge dissemination organizations, i.e., the private and scientific research sectors.
The total eligible project costs amount to HRK 25,586,937.08, while the EU's share of project financing is HRK 17,506,537.44.
The project implementation period is from July 1, 2020 to July 1, 2023.
