MS Wi-Fi in schools
With projects by Microsoft Croatia, the Croatian Academic and Research Network – CARNET, and the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, 50 primary and secondary schools have been connected with WiFi networks. 30 primary and 20 secondary schools across Croatia with over 26,000 students have gained the ability to use WiFi networks in classrooms thanks to the successful implementation of the project.
This project enabled better connectivity, which also meant an entrance into the „world of knowledge.” Thus, organizations, employees, and students in places where there was previously no good connectivity gained access cloudu. In addition to fast internet access, schools gained a high level of security and network connection control, considering that students could only access the network through their electronic identities in the AAI@EduHr system, which automatically granted them access to the school system and MS Office 365.
The project was fully funded by Microsoft Croatia and implemented in cooperation with CARNET and the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, as part of Microsoft's focus on providing the use of modern technology in everyday teaching, as well as to help younger generations become competitive in the job market.
