CARNET ctrl

School network management application  CARNET ctrl It was developed for simpler management of state-of-the-art network equipment in schools and enables easier management of local networks through a unified user interface.

Schools participating in the e-Schools project have been equipped with network infrastructure that includes passive and active network equipment. Considering the large number of institutions and network devices, and due to the connection with other information systems used by schools, a need arose for a unified system for managing and monitoring the school's local network.

CARNET ctrl communicates with external network management and monitoring systems (implemented as part of the active network equipment procurement) – Cisco Prime, Cisco Meraki, FortiManager, and FortiAnalyzer – via an API interface. In this way, the application retrieves data on school network performance and network device configuration settings, and also allows users to change configurations on network devices through the same channel. In order to collect and display additional information about the schools for which users are responsible, the CARNET ctrl application also communicates with existing CARNET services via an API interface.
