Grow2CERT
The project „Grow2CERT – Increasing the maturity of the National CERT for stronger cooperation in the cybersecurity community“ is co-financed by the European Union through the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF).
The purpose of the project is to increase the readiness of the National CERT and integrate additional components into the National PiXi Platform (Platform for Collection, Analysis, and Exchange of Data on Computer Security Threats and Incidents) to enable interaction with the MeliCERTes system as an EU-level cooperation mechanism.
The implementation of the project will contribute to the alignment of the PiXi Platform with the Cybersecurity Act for operators of essential services and digital service providers, which transposes Directive 2016/1148 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 6 July 2016 concerning measures for a high common level of security of network and information systems throughout the Union (the so-called NIS Directive).
The alignment will enable the inclusion of operators of essential services and digital service providers in the collection and exchange of information on cyber security incidents and threats through the PiXi platform. The project also envisages the continuation of the National CERT's activities with the aim of raising public awareness about cyber security and maintaining cyber hygiene through a digital campaign, social media posts, and the organization of events dedicated to cyber security topics.
The project consists of eight main activities:
- Continuation of the development of the National PiXi Platform for collecting, analyzing, and exchanging data on cyber security threats and incidents, and preparation for new interactions and the use of MeliCERTes components.
- cybersecurity awareness activities
- Raising the maturity level of the National CERT according to the SIM3 model (Security Incident Management Maturity Model)
- increase in the capacity of the National CERT's staff and other national bodies involved in the implementation of cybersecurity measures
- organization of the meeting of the European CERT/CSIRT community „CSIRT Network“ during the presidency of the European Union and the aforementioned community
- Upgrade and enhancement of the cybersecurity of CARNET's critical infrastructure in the form of security devices and applications
- Project Management
- Project communication and visibility.
The total value of the project is 1,074,819.00 euros.
