CARNET Video Conferences

CARNET has developed a unique video conferencing system that allows establishing a videoconferencing connection between two or more locations involved in the system via the H.323 protocol. With the Polycom Real Presence Desktop application on your computer, and with adequate audio-video equipment, CARNET users can participate in video conferencing. There is also a possibility of booking the TCR Classroom (Tele Conferencing Room) available to them in the system.

The TCR classroom is an academic institution facility, equipped with a videoconferencing device that is fully adjusted to conditions required for high-quality audio and video transmission. Active TCR classrooms can be booked on the website TCR booking.

Adobe Connect

In its desire to offer additional opportunities to remote day-to-day communication to the educational and academic community CARNET has implemented Adobe Connect Pro server that enables network collaboration. This network tool allows users to participate in webinars, meetings, tests, tutorials, and distance training. Options are available such as whiteboard, chat, sharing screen content, windows or individual applications, voice and image upload, polls, and various other features. Webinar (WEB based seminar) is a seminar, lecture or workshop that is transmitted via the Internet. It happens in real time and includes sound, text or video communication between lecturers and participants who are at different locations. The level of interaction depends on the author and the subject. Webinars can be accessed from any computer that has internet access and can later be downloaded and viewed. The technical prerequisite for tracking a webinar is a computer with speakers connected to the internet at an average speed. Microphones and headphones are not necessary, but enhance the experience of participation.
