Permanent Connection

Permanent connection is a service through which CARNET enables member institutions to stay connected to the CARNET network.

Facilities from the Ministry of Science and Education system provide access to the CARNET network by a permanent link through a local network of CARNET member institution, which is leased to the CARNET network. CARNET rents a telecommunications line and provides equipment for realizing an access point to the CARNET network at the member’s location.

Institutions are connected to the CARNET network with transmission lines of different technologies and speed, depending on the existing infrastructure of telecommunications service providers, needs of member institutions, market changes and similar. Currently, CARNET cooperates with all major telecommunication services providers in the Republic of Croatia.
