May 9, 2018.

Croatian Academic and Research Network – CARNET, in cooperation with its partners, the Faculty of Science of the University of Split and the Department for Teacher’s Studies of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Split, in the framework of the Science Festival in Split, held the fourth convention of Modern Education Technology – MET 2017.

The convention took place over two days, April 27 and 28, 2017, and offered a series of lectures, workshops, demonstrations, and presentations of best practice examples. The main theme of the event was creative classes, presented through lively discussions, a number of practical and stimulating workshops, and demonstrations of excellent and inspirational examples of technology application in teaching.

A special emphasis was placed on workshops and lectures for science and mathematics teachers participating in the e-Schools project: Establishing a System for Developing Digitally Mature Schools (pilot project), which is co-financed by the European Union from European structural and investment funds.

The first day kicked off with a festive ceremony and introductory lectures given by Mr. Branko Bognar, PhD, from the Faculty of Education at Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek. His presentation was titled “How to Help Teachers Achieve Creative Classes?”.

In addition to interesting lectures and workshops on teaching and learning in the 21st century and the application of ICT in classrooms, participants had the opportunity over both days to see concrete examples from teacher practice and communicate with innovative teachers who use technology in their everyday practice as an aid to classroom activities with their students.

During the two days, the convention gathered more than 360 attendees, which is a 20 percent increase compared to last year.
