Sign up for a massive online course on using the CRISS platform

February 15, 2019.

All interested teachers who wish to participate in online Pilots of the CRISS project who did not manage to register or complete the course in the first round have the opportunity to register and/or complete a new round of the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for using the platform within the CRISS project. The aim of the MOOC is to educate teachers on teaching and evaluating digital competencies on a modern and modular platform that encourages students to work creatively and collaboratively.

CRISS MOOC Competencies and Learning Outcomes

Participation in the course will enable teachers to know, understand, and implement the methodological framework for digital competence of the European Union. According to the European Union, digital competence is one of the eight key competences that every young person must acquire before completing compulsory education, and through work on the course and with the platform, teachers gain valuable training experience, both for themselves and for students, in the knowledge needed to develop these competences.

In addition to general work on improving their own and students' competencies, the teacher will learn through the MOOC how to use a specially designed e-portfolio for student tracking. The e-portfolio serves as a repository of works created with the intention of tracking and showcasing student progress and mastery of a specific area of digital competence.

In addition to the above, with a specially developed knowledge analytics system, the teacher has the possibility at all times to gain insight into the development, evaluation, and certification of students' digital competencies.

Detailed course plan:

The CRISS MOOC started on February 11th and will last for four weeks (20 hours of instruction), consisting of three main modules:

  1. Key digital competencies of students
  2. Creating and managing learning evidence through ePortfolios
  3. Learning Scenarios and How to Shape Them with CRISS's Platform
Who can participate?

All interested teachers are welcome to access the CRISS MOOC via the following link – CRISS MOOC. Completing the course does not require participation in the CRISS pilot, although it is necessary to register the school to undertake practical activities on the CRISS platform.

How long do applications last?

All interested teachers will be able to register to attend the massive open course throughout the duration of the course.
