GrowCERT
The GrowCERT project, which CARNET is implementing in order to strengthen the capacities of the National CERT and improve national and European cooperation, is co-financed by the European Commission through the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF – Connecting Europe Facility).
The purpose and overall goal of this project is to improve the preparedness and response to cyber threats of critical Croatian national infrastructures and CARNET's National CERT, the national computer incident response team. A contribution to strengthening Croatian national capacities for collecting, analyzing, and exchanging information on cyber incidents and cyber security threats will be achieved by creating a platform for collecting statistical data and security incidents at both national and European levels.
In addition to the development and creation of the platform, activities will be carried out to raise awareness and train CARNET's National CERT department employees, procurement of higher-performance hardware, software, and licenses. This will develop additional services to improve response to cyber threats, including a national SPAM list, a system for disseminating information about discovered vulnerabilities, and a tool for detecting altered appearances of website homepages.Web Defacement), and other malicious content online. The end result of the project will be developed software tools for the CSP Platform (Core Service Platform) as mechanisms for cooperation.
The project consists of six main activities:
- Project Management
- Raising awareness of cyber threats and possible solutions
- Development of a platform for collecting statistical data and security incidents at the national and European levels
- Raising the overall level of internet security (purchase of hardware, software, licenses, development of services and platforms)
- Strengthening employee capacity in the field of computer security
- Communication and visibility.
The total value of the project is 984,132.81 euros.
The project is being implemented from July 1, 2017, to June 30, 2019.
