March 14, 2019.

Basic information about Croatia is available today on the new, redesigned website WWW.HR. In addition to an attractive appearance and improved functionality, the Croatian homepage also offers new content.

The section "Croatia" presents the peculiarities of Croatia through numerous interesting facts in the fields of sports, history, culture, art, gastronomy, tangible and intangible heritage, divided into 11 subject groups. Visitors will be able to get information about Croatian customs and natural resources, as well as lifestyle and other topics, in Croatian and English.

WWW.HR also includes a section called Croatia Live, where visitors can follow a live feed of what is happening in several Croatian cities, and the Directory of Croatian Network Servers, whose purpose is to unite all websites from Croatia and websites related to Croatia in one place. Today, the directory contains more than 25,000 websites, classified into more than 700 categories.

The implementation of the “WWW.HR – home page of Croatia” project started in 1994, under the patronage of the Department of Telecommunications, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb. In 1996, the patronage of the project passed to the Croatian Academic and Research Network – CARNET, which has been working on WWW.HR until this day.

During its 25 years of existence, WWW.HR has undergone several visual identity changes and, following trends and technology, has continuously improved existing functionalities and developed new ones. In the coming period, the site will be supplemented with additional content and topics, and the content will be available in multiple languages, giving foreign citizens the opportunity to learn interesting facts about Croatia.

All visitors can send suggestions for topics and content they would like to read, and website owners can register their site in the catalog to gain more visibility and to help WWW.HR in providing information.
