e-Schools: Kick-off meeting held to mark the start of work on CARNET hubs

In November 2022, the kickoff meeting was held at CARNET premises.kickoff) meeting regarding the commencement of the contract for the procurement of services to improve technical conditions at CARNET nodes within the scope of the e-Schools program's Phase II.

This involves the adaptation of an existing CARNET data center in Osijek, which includes architectural, construction, mechanical engineering, and electrical engineering works. The planned activities aim to further improve technical and security requirements for access control, power supply and cooling system redundancy, network connectivity and computing/storage resource redundancy, as well as fire and technical protection. The purpose of the data center adaptation is to further enhance the quality of access and availability of CARNET services intended for the educational system in the Republic of Croatia.

Representatives from CARNET, the client, were present at the meeting, along with representatives from the consortium of bidders ATOS IT Solutions and Services d.o.o. and Aeroteh d.o.o., who will be responsible for carrying out the contracted activities, and the authorized supervising engineer from H5 d.o.o.

To ensure the successful implementation of the contract, the work plan and next steps were presented in detail at the meeting. Harmonized methods of communication and reporting, as well as activity implementation, were agreed upon, along with a tentative timeline.
