The Croatian Academic and Research Network - CARNet signed a contract on March 30, 2016, for the procurement of the service for creating learning scenarios and a digital competence framework, as well as the preparation, organization, and implementation of user education and events related to the community of practice for the project “e-Schools: Establishing a System for Developing Digitally Mature Schools” GROUP 1. Creation of learning scenarios.
The contract has been signed with a consortium composed of Profil Klett Ltd., British Council, and CIP IDEM, for the purpose of implementing the e-Schools: Establishment of a System for Developing Digitally Mature Schools project. The primary goal of the contract is the development of 240 learning scenarios for science subjects (mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology) for 7th and 8th grade of elementary school and 1st and 2nd grade of high school.
Learning scenarios are intended for teachers and represent a model for lesson design on a specific topic. They define what students can do with a specific set of resources and tools, and imply the application of modern pedagogical methods, ICT, and Web 2.0 tools. For this purpose, the provider community will analyze relevant international documents and examples of good practice and define learning scenario models at 3 levels of execution complexity. The first group of learning scenarios will be tested in several schools, and based on the testing results, existing and new learning scenarios will be corrected and developed. Finally, a digital handbook for the application of learning scenarios in the teaching process will be created.
The inaugural meeting of the working group of experts participating in the implementation of the contract with CARNet representatives as the e-Schools project coordinator and the Faculty of Informatics and Organization as the project partner, was held on April 9, 2016, at Profil Klett. At the meeting, the e-Schools project was presented, examples of developed learning scenarios were showcased, and specific definitions of the planned results of this procurement were clarified. The working group's methodology, work plan, communication, and reporting were presented in detail, all with the aim of successfully realizing the signed contract.
