The 3rd student day “Modern Technologies in Education - STO 2016” has opened”

Today in Rijeka, the third event „Modern Technologies in Education“ - STO 2016 opened. It is being held on April 21 and 22, 2016, organized by the Croatian Academic and Research Network – CARNet, the Faculty of Teacher Education, and the Faculty of Philosophy in Rijeka.

The University of Rijeka also provides patronage and great support for Student Day, therefore the introductory lecture was held by Prof. Pero Lučin, Ph.D., Rector of the University of Rijeka.

STO 2016, over its two days of events, will offer two special programs. The program for the first day, April 21st, is designed for 150 teachers, leaders of school project teams in the "e-Schools: Establishing a System for Developing Digitally Mature Schools (pilot project)" project, co-financed by the European Union from European structural and investment funds, while the program for the second day, April 22nd, is specifically prepared for students.

Student Day is an opportunity for all students of teacher education faculties and faculties where future teachers are educated to get acquainted with various forms of applying information and communication technology through a series of practical workshops and demonstrations. This technology can make their teaching more fun and engaging for their students, increase motivation, improve understanding of learned material, and contribute to the development of students' communication and collaboration skills.
