NATO Exercise “Cyber Coalition 2016”

The Croatian Academic and Research Network – CARNet and its National CERT Department actively participated in the largest and most complex annual NATO exercise for the protection of computer systems, entitled “Cyber Coalition 2016”.

The exercise, which lasted from November 28 to December 2, 2016, comprised 27 NATO members, numerous NATO partner countries, as well as NATO and EU bodies. This year, Croatian partners from industry and academia participated in the exercise's implementation. In order to overcome the complex technical challenges that arise as part of resolving computer incidents, the emphasis has been placed on mutual communication and cooperation. The exercise was led by the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCD COE) in Tallinn, Estonia.
