CARNet Joins the First Croatian Competence Center for Cybernetic Safety

At the initiative of CS Computer Systems, as the project coordinator, the Centre of Competences for the Cybernetic Safety of Management Systems (CEKOM) was established. Along with the Croatian Academic and Research Network (CARNet) and the National CERT Department, other partners of the centre include Končar's power plant and electric traction engineering department, the Croatian transmission system operator, and the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing of the University of Zagreb.

This is the first center in Croatia dedicated to cybernetic safety competencies. It is driven by industry needs and aims to utilize research and development projects to create efficient solutions, build the capacities of the business sector, with the ultimate goal of successfully commercializing developed solutions in the field of control systems cybernetic safety.

The project has been recognized by the Croatian Competitiveness Cluster of the electric power and manufacturing machines and technology sector, which has granted it the designation of a project of national interest.

The objective of the Centre's establishment is to leverage the combined strengths of the business sector and scientific/research institutions to develop globally competitive solutions in the field of cybernetic safety for management systems. The designated competent authority and each Centre partner will contribute their unique knowledge, experience, and innovations, gained through extensive work in management systems, cybernetic safety, research and development, and the management of complex projects in industrial and scientific settings.

The Centre's vision is to create cybernetically safe management systems that will ensure the reliable functioning of critical sectors and infrastructure at national, EU, and global levels.
