At the beginning of the 2025/2026 school year, all primary and secondary schools in Croatia will gain access Informational – a digital communication platform designed to make school communication more efficient, secure, and transparent. The platform allows for message exchange between students, parents, teachers, homeroom teachers, and principals, with clearly defined rules of use tailored to each role in the educational system.
With the goal of improving mutual communication and conducting it in a controlled and safe environment, Informativka was developed as part of the BrAin project as a system upgrade Privacy Policy. The CARNET system "Privacy" is intended for school staff to create communication groups, as well as to work with GDPR consents within the school system.
The "Informativka" has already been successfully tested in 33 schools included in the pilot phase, and important system upgrades have been carried out in preparation for its nationwide introduction. One of the more significant new features is the ability to track message status. Users can now see if their message has been read and by whom. Additionally, "Informativka" will receive a range of other useful functionalities, including the ability to attach files to messages, create polls, and receive notifications within the e-Diary.
“Our goal is to create a unique communication hub that will consolidate all important information at the fingertips of students, parents, and teachers. Informativka enables precisely that – clear, fast, and reliable information exchange, with complete control over user privacy,” he emphasized. Hrvoje Puljiz, Director of CARNET.
Users who participated in the pilot phase highlight numerous benefits of the new platform. “I believe I will soon be able to move all my communication groups to Informativka, thus eliminating the sharing of private numbers,” she shared her experience. Vesna Samardžić, teacher at Ivan Lovrić Elementary School Sinj, emphasizing the system's ease of use.
For schools participating in the pilot phase, the first webinar on consent management was held, while a webinar on the same topic open to all schools will follow at the end of May. Topics related to CARNET privacy, Informatikka, and consent management will be presented in more detail at webinars before the full launch of the service at the beginning of the school year. To provide additional support to schools in using the platform, online and in-person workshops are also planned from autumn.
Informativka is the first system integrated into the e-Diary for teachers and the e-Diary for parents, which allows precise connection of users with their school roles. The platform can be accessed via the link informativka.carnet.hr using the AAI@EduHr electronic identity, the e-Citizens system, as well as through e-Diary for teachers, students, and parents.
