After the Kamešnica Elementary School in Otok, the 2nd Elementary School in Bjelovar, and the Antun and Stjepan Radić Elementary School in Gunja, the Horvati Elementary School in Zagreb has also joined the Classroom of the Future Project in Croatia. Croatia's seventh Classroom of the Future, opened on April 1, 2016, will enable interactive learning with the support of the latest information technologies for 300 pupils of the Zagreb elementary school.
The goal of the project by the Croatian Academic and Research Network CARNet and Samsung Electronics, supported by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, is to provide all pupils with access to advanced information technologies and help bridge the digital divide.
The Classroom of the Future at Horvati Elementary School follows a proven global practice, implemented in Croatia by CARNet and Samsung in collaboration with partners. It includes a teacher's computer, tablets, and an interactive whiteboard, enabling interactive knowledge exchange for all students. Teachers can swiftly share information and notes, and gain an immediate understanding of students’ grasp of a particular lesson. Content can be shared on the interactive whiteboard and sent to students’ tablets with just a few clicks. Students and teachers can simultaneously take lesson notes, highlight key information, or draw on both their tablets and the interactive whiteboard. Teachers can very quickly ascertain students“ understanding of the lesson through short quizzes, surveys, and discussions.
