The Croatian Academic and Research Network – CARNet invites all interested parties to actively participate in this year's 18th user conference CUC 2016, which will be held under the title "Let's Program Our Future" from November 9th to 11th, 2016, at the Hotel Lone in Rovinj.
Through invited lectures, papers, workshops, interactive presentations, and round tables, during three conference days, the following topics will be discussed at CUC 2016:
- Interactive learning and playful teaching
- Open Education
- Development of Digitally Mature Schools
- Digital culture
- The impact of technology on the future of education
The deadline for submitting full conference papers is May 27th, and proposals for workshops and interactive presentations can be submitted until May 13th of this year. Interactive presentations are a new format of presentations, introduced this year, and will include presentation elements demonstrating a practical example with the exchange of ideas and interaction with the participants attending the presentation.

The accompanying event of this year's CUC will be the "Creation of Digital Teaching Materials in Libro" competition. The goal of this competition is to motivate teachers in creating digital teaching materials and to encourage excellence in their creation.
Within a special program unit called sys.trek, at the CUC 2016 conference, special lectures, presentations, and workshops will be organized for system engineers from CARNet member institutions.
A special part of the CARNet User Conference – CUC 2016 will be dedicated to activities related to the project "e-Schools: Establishment of a System for Developing Digitally Mature Schools (pilot project)", which will bring together all conference participants involved in the project or wishing to learn more about it through various formats and content.
The conference is part of the pilot project "e-Schools: Establishment of a System for Developing Digitally Mature Schools (pilot project)" which is financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the European Social Fund (ESF).
