April 26, 2016.

The Croatian Academic and Research Network - CARNet, in cooperation with its partners - the Faculty of Teacher Education and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Rijeka - held the third Modern Technologies in Education - MTE 2016 student day. The event lasted two days, April 21 and 22, 2016, and included two special programs. The program held on the first day was intended for teachers leading school project teams within the project “e-Schools: Establishing a System for Developing Digitally Mature Schools (Pilot Project),” co-financed by the European Union from the European Structural and Investment Funds, while the program held on the second day was specifically prepared for students of the Faculty of Teacher Education and faculties with teaching tracks.

An opening ceremony was held on the first day, featuring an introductory lecture by the University of Rijeka Rector, Professor Pero Lučin, Ph.D., while on the second day, the students were inspired by the introductory lecture of Professor Josipa Blagus under the title “ICT as Motivation in Teaching and Learning”.

Apart from interesting lectures and workshops on the subject of teaching and learning in the 21st century and the use of ICT in teaching, the participants had the opportunity to become acquainted with specific examples from teaching practice and communicate with innovative teachers who use technology as support for educational activities with students in their everyday practice.

The event was also attended by CARNet's partners Microsoft and Lukvel, which also presented their educational technologies.

In the course of two days, more than 300 people attended Student Day.
