3rd Modern Technologies in Education – MTE 2016 Student Day Held

26. travnja 2016.

The Croatian Academic and Research Network – CARNet, in cooperation with its partners – the Faculty of Teacher Education and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Rijeka – held the third Modern Technologies in Education – MTE 2016 student day. The event lasted two days, 21 and 22 April 2016, and included two special programmes. The programme held on the first day was intended for teachers heading the school project teams within the project “e-Schools: Establishing a System for Developing Digitally Mature Schools (Pilot Project)”, co-financed by the European Union from the European Structural and Investment Funds, while the programme held on the second day was specifically prepared for students of the Faculty of Teacher Education and faculties with teaching tracks.

An opening ceremony was held on the first day, featuring an introductory lecture by the University of Rijeka Rector, Professor Pero Lučin, Ph.D., while on the second day, the students were inspired by the introductory lecture of Professor Josipa Blagus under the title “ICT as Motivation in Teaching and Learning”.

Apart from interesting lectures and workshops on the subject of teaching and learning in the 21st century and the use of ICT in teaching, the participants had the opportunity to acquaint themselves with specific examples from teaching practice and communicate with innovative teachers who use technology as support to the educational activities with students in their everyday practice.

The event was also attended by CARNet’s partners Microsoft and Lukvel, which also presented their education technologies.

In the course of two days, more than 300 people attended the Student Day.

All additional information about the event is available on the event website at www.sto.carnet.hr or at the event’s Facebook page.
