To ensure a quality relationship between CARNET and member institutions, all primary and secondary educational institutions are required to appoint:
- directory administrator
- one resource administrator.
Schools participating in e-Dnevnik, in addition to the administrators listed, must also appoint one e-Dnevnik administrator.
Directory Administrator
The Directory Administrator is the official representative of the school who is responsible for updating the school's LDAP directory. They must be an employee of the member institution and are appointed by the principal.
The administrator's obligation is to update the directory at the beginning of each school year, meaning to add electronic identities of new students and teaching staff to the AAI@EduHr system, and to delete users from the database who no longer have the status of student or school employee. In addition to the annual directory update, the administrator is obliged to update the directory status due to changes, such as the arrival/departure of new teaching staff or students to/from the school.
It is recommended that the directory administrator be a school employee who is otherwise responsible for maintaining the student list, or someone from the school's administrative staff. The administrator's function is related to the relationship between CARNET and the member institution and is not a job position.
The administrator is obliged to respect and implement decisions and consider recommendations made by CARNET, which relate to CARNET's resources made available to the member.
Resource Administrator
The Resource Administrator is an official representative of the school who is responsible for assigning resources made available to their school by CARNET, and only to users of the school where they are employed. They must be an employee of the member institution and are appointed by the principal.
The administrator's obligation is, on behalf of the member, to ensure the correctness and stability of the functioning of the resources made available by CARNET to the member, as well as the general technical and security condition of the member's computer and communication system connected to the CARNET network.
On behalf of the school, they can request additional resources from CARNET and establish technical contacts regarding CARNET's computer and communication resources. If a member has multiple individuals, collaborators, or institutions responsible for the member's computer and communication and information infrastructure, the officially appointed resource administrator is exclusively the person who maintains technical contact between the member and CARNET.
The resource administrator is obliged to respect and implement decisions and consider recommendations made by CARNET, relating to CARNET's resources made available to the member.
e-Diary administrator
The e-Diary administrator is a school employee responsible for the administration of the e-Diary system in their school. This includes assigning tokens, correcting incorrect entries by teachers, and communicating with CARNET in case of difficulties or special requirements when using the e-Diary.
