We invite you to the second Croatian Internet Governance Forum (CRO-IGF – Internet Governance Forum) 2016, which will be held on June 1, 2016, in Opatija as part of the MIPRO conference. The Forum is jointly organized by MIPRO, the Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure, the Ministry of Public Administration, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the Croatian Academic and Research Network – CARNet, the Faculty of Law of the University of Zagreb, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Zagreb, the Croatian Employers' Association, Ericsson Nikola Tesla, the HROpen Association, and the Croatian Regulatory Agency for Network Industries (HAKOM).
The task of the Internet Governance Forum is to connect all interested stakeholders in the Internet value chain around issues concerning the governance and regulation of the Internet. The Forum is an open platform for discussion and analysis of problems from the perspectives of all stakeholders on an equal footing. The Forum does not have a mandate to negotiate or make decisions, but it can contribute to the process of shaping opinions and proposing solutions that are adopted by other relevant bodies and organizations. By supporting the IGF model at the national level, we actively contribute to affirming the idea of a new way of managing the Internet based on the principles of participation of all stakeholders – the academic community, industry, government administration, and civil society/Internet users.
