Representatives of the Croatian Academic and Research Network – CARNet and the .hr Domain Registry participated in the seventh annual Internet conference DIDS 2016 (Day of Internet Domains of Serbia) and the second Regional Internet Forum – RIF 2016, which were held in Belgrade on March 15 and 16, 2016.
The Serbian National Internet Domain Day was held under the slogan „We Live the Internet... Globally – Securely – Locally,“ and the organizer was the „Serbian National Internet Domain Registry“ Foundation (RNIDS).
RIF 2016 brought together representatives of national registries from Southeastern Europe, as well as representatives from government bodies, local internet community bodies, global internet organizations, and legal experts from the region. The topics at RIF 2016 included practical examples and views from regional experts on the multistakeholder model of internet governance, the development of e-government in Serbia and the region, internet neutrality, legal regulations in this area, and internet security.
The President of the RIF 2016 Program Committee was CARNet employee Nataša Glavor.
